First Day Procedures

First Day Procedures

Tuesday, September 1, will be the first day of school for the 2015/2016 school year.  In order to make the morning go as smoothly as possible we wanted to let everyone know what the procedure for the first day of school will be. In order to facilitate assigning almost 800 students to classrooms we will be doing a staggered entry.  Please note procedures may vary by division.

Junior High 8:30 AM-  Students will meet on the back tarmac and will be called in by grade to the small and large gym.  Homeroom teachers will call out names and take students to their classrooms.

Division II- Grades 4,5,6 8:45 AM– Division II teachers will be outside on the tarmac behind the school.  One teacher from each grade will be at a table, their grade will be clearly posted.  Students will “check in” with the teacher who will give them the name of their homeroom teacher and direct them where to line up.  All other grade teachers will be in the location of the line up to assist students.  Once the majority of the students are assembled homeroom teachers will walk their students inside.  Staff members without a homeroom will be circulating to assist those who have any questions and help direct students.

Division I- Grades 1, 2, 3- 9:00 AM- Division I teachers will be outside on the tarmac next to the playground.

Kindergarten- Using Conference Manager (link on school website) parents will sign up for an interview time.  An email will be sent in late August indicating which teacher you will sign up for.
