Photocopying is one of the biggest budget items in any school. In addition, paper consumption is an environmental concern. In response to this, the staff of St. Jerome School has declared March 16th-20th ‘Turn Off The Photocopier Week’. For this week, we will look at ways to deliver programs without the use of photocopied paper. In addition, administration will communicate electronically with the staff exclusively. It is our hope that this initiative will encourage us look at innovative ways to avoid the use of photocopying!
Mrs. Karen Strand has been nominated by parents at St. Jerome School for a 2015 Excellence in Teaching Award. This Award has been created by the Provincial Government to acknowledge excellence in the classroom. Students at St. Jerome School have benefitted from the skilled instruction of Mrs. Strand. The results of the selection process will be made public later this school year. Good luck Mrs. Strand!
March 9th -13th is designated “Substitute Appreciation Week”. We are so fortunate at St. Jerome School to have a small group of regular guest teachers who come to our school when our teachers are unable to be in class. These fine people enable us to continue programing and help us to ensure that the curricular goals are met. In appreciation of our guest teachers, during “Substitute Awareness Week” we will present them with a St. Jerome pen as a token of our thanks!
Monday, March 2nd is a Professional Development day in the District for all Staff. Just a reminder that there are no classes for students.
