Happy Thanksgiving

We would like to wish all families of St. Jerome a Happy Thanksgiving weekend.  A reminder that Friday, October 10th is a Professional Development day for our staff and there will be no classes that day making it a 4 day weekend for students.

Classes resume on Tuesday, October 14th.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Thanksgiving Celebration

Our Thanksgiving celebration will be presented by Mrs. Kiedyk’s Kindergarten class and Grades 6B and 4G in the school gym on Thursday, October 9th at 1 p.m.  Parents are invited to attend this, and every celebration!

Terry Fox Run

Our Terry Fox Run was once again a huge success despite the weather!  Together we raised $1220.00 this year.  Way to Go St. Jerome!

School Council

Our next School Council meeting for the month of October will be held on Thursday, October 2nd at 7:00 p.m. All parents are welcome to attend.

Parent Volunteers

We have arranged to have another “Volunteer Parent Orientation Session” on Thursday, October 2nd at 6:40 p.m. Please join us in the library if you have not previously attended a volunteer orientation session.

Terry Fox Run

Our annual Terry Fox Run will take place on Friday September 26th.  Students are asked to bring a “toonie” for Terry if possible.  All students and staff are also invited to show their school spirit by wearing athletic wear to school!

School Opening Mass

Please join the St. Jerome School community as we celebrate the opening of the school year and our patron saint – “St. Jerome Day” in our school gym on Wednesday, September 17th, at 10:30 a.m. We encourage all to wear red to celebrate St. Jerome. As always, parents are welcome to attend!

“Pass It On” Clothing Drive

As part of our Kick-Off to our Community of Caring this year, our school is participating in a clothing drive from September 22-26, called “Pass It On” (at St. Mary’s School). Our goal is to collect 1 donated item of clothing from each student in our school. The clothing will then be picked up and distributed to homeless and needy families in Calgary.

If you wish to participate in this drive, please send one piece per student of new or gently used (freshly laundered, please) winter clothing to school the week of September 22-25. Some examples of items we are collecting are winter coats, jeans, mittens, toques, or hoodies, but please feel free to send in a different piece of clothing not listed. Any size, child or adult, would be appropriate.

If you would like to volunteer to help sort clothing on September 26th, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Jennifer Raffard at jraffard@shaw.ca
Thank you for your support.
